Challenge:
Perform complete exterior historical restoration of 80-year-old hall and cupola, including complete slate roof replacement, replacement of all copper, plaza repairs, and handicapped accessibility.
Solution:
The cupola exterior restoration included wood replacement, bell and weathervane restoration with gilding, and installation of bird netting. Window replacement was completed for over 105 oversized windows with new, historically accurate wood window sash and trim. The design of a new wheelchair ramp for handicapped accessibility blended into the existing historical style. Additional design improvements included sidewalk, walkway repairs, and site lighting. Design of new dock leveler at the loading dock was provided to increase efficiency and safety.
