Determine sources of water infiltration and provide recommendations for repair.
CBI was engaged to provide architectural and engineering design services associated with the replacement of roofs at Caswell Hall (built in 1903), Metcalf Hall (built in 1919) and Miller Hall (built in 1910). Each building has a sloped roof assembly with slate and copper roofing. CBI reviewed the condition of the roofing systems as well as the brick chimneys, balustrades, fires escapes, skylights, and dormers to determine sources of water infiltration and provide recommendation for repair. The scope of work included removal and replacement of the existing slate roof, copper downspouts and gutters, copper flashing and flat seam copper roofing as well as masonry pointing at the chimneys and the installation of new skylights and hatches.
