Provide design services to replace the rubber roof systems on two high-rise buildings. Exterior repairs are also required on the 18 Bond Street building.
CBI performed a comprehensive survey of the roofs and exterior walls to determine the existing conditions and to estimate the extent of work required to repair the materials. The roofing was removed to the concrete deck and was completely replaced with a fully adhered PVC roofing system. Cracks in the brick masonry were repaired, as well as weathered mortar joint areas. The perimeters of the existing replacement windows were resealed and the joints in the window sills were sealed. The existing coating on the concrete walls was removed by water blasting and the concrete walls, balconies and spandrel beams were repaired at spalled areas. The repaired concrete was recoated with a breathable concrete coating and balcony decks were coated with an elastomeric deck coating.
