Challenge:

Renovation of and addition to the severely deteriorated concrete structure located on the sea coast.

Solution:

Deterioration of steel and concrete was traced to poorly consolidated concrete and chloride induced corrosion of reinforcing. The existing deterioration was repaired and the entire structure, addition and existing, was covered with a 1” dense stucco coat with chloride inhibitor to resist nature’s ocean force 50’ away.
