Design a 40,000 superstore and incorporate a 20,000 gallon flood storage containment reservoir below, all over contaminated soil.
The superstructure was accomplished using off-the-shelf truss girders, open web bar joists and reinforced masonry walls. Contaminated soil was penetrated by a pile foundation to minimize disruption. The containment reservoir was created using membrane lined soil and topped with precast concrete planks as the floor system.
