Challenge:

Design repairs for this garage composed of eight levels of post-tensioned concrete slab over precast tee beams with one slab-on-grade level with ramps that are cantilevered post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete.

Solution:

CBI performed a detailed investigation of post-tensioned slabs, including the stressing of tendons to determine the capacity of corroded tendons. CBI also performed a structural analysis of the slabs to determine their load-carrying capacity. The scope of work involved the design of remedial work, cost estimates, bidding, supervision of repair work, and contract administration. Programmed repairs included the repair of deteriorated concrete, as well as options for ramp slab overlay, plumbing, and waterproofing.
