Challenge:

Design repairs of this parking garage consisting of eight framed levels with one on-grade level. The superstructure is cast-in-place. There are 5 inch concrete slabs on steel wide-flange columns and beams. Total area of the garage is 120,000 square feet.

Solution:

CBI conducted a detailed investigation of the slabs. We provided design of remedial work, cost estimates, contract documents, bidding, supervision of repair work, and contract administration. Programmed repairs included replacement of circular ramp and one level of deteriorated concrete, concrete spall repairs, replacement of expansion joints, trench drains, and waterproofing.
