Challenge:

Simmons Hall, designed by architect Steven Holl, is a ten-story dormitory that houses 350 undergraduate students and faculty and includes a computer cluster, fitness center, music rooms and street-level dining.

Solution:

CBI was engaged to provide structural engineering support, which included assisting the concrete subcontractor with the design of temporary shoring for the cast in place concrete floor framing. In addition, CBI designed the structural framing for the exterior glass canopy.
